On a beautiful first day of summer, at the Hampden Township Activities Site on the banks of the Conedeguinet Creek, The Mechanicsburg North Rotary Club hosted its fifteenth consecutive fishing derby for the areas elementary school children.
Ages three through twelve, approximately seventy-five children participated. Prizes were awarded for the biggest fish, most fish caught by one person, etc.
The largest fish was caught by six year old girl, it was a full eighteen inch bass. A seven year old boy caught the most fish at four.
Prizes were awarded to all participants, followed by a hot dog mid-morning snack. This event is held annually and is FREE to all participants.
